Sorrento and Pompei

A huge day of touring around Sorrento and visiting the ruins of Pompei.

We are sailing!

After COVID-19 delayed our trip by 2 years, we are finally sailing on the Mediterranean cruise.

Next port is Naples (tomorrow).

Rome - Day 3 - Colosseum

Today, we were transported back into history as we walked around the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill.

Rome - Day 2 - Vatican Museum

Today, we visited the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. Linda described it well - visual overload!

It contains such an eclectic collection of artefacts and art. The buildings themselves are works of art.

1st Day in Rome

Last night, after very tiring flights we arrived in Rome and finally got some much needed sleep.

Today was our first day exploring Rome.

We used a "Hop on Hop off" bus to get the lay of the land. We then spent the day wandering the many piazzas.

Sleepless with excitement

Our preparation is done. The bags are all packed. Now we just need to try together some sleep before the driver arrives at 2:00am to take us to the airport.

I'm not sure we will sleep as we are so excited to be travelling again.

The Adventure Begins

The Mediterranean - May 2022

Now that international travel is returning, we are finally able to embark on the trip we had to delay for 2 years due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Just 2 more days until we fly out from Sydney. Follow us on our adventure to Rome and then cruise around the Mediterranean until the end of May. We will visit many wonderful places full of history and rich in culture.
